Dr. Gary Salomon is a graduate of Amherst College and of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed residency training in General Surgery at Boston University and Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, a Johns Hopkins Affiliate hospital. He completed board certification in General Surgery. After his Surgical Residency, and prior to his residency in Plastic Surgery, he was a cancer expert at the National Institute of Health (NIH) , Surgery Branch, in Bethesda, Maryland. He then completed residency training in Plastic Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Dr. Salomon has also completed a fellowship in Hand Surgery at Roosevelt Hospital in New York.
Dr. Salomon has staff privileges at St. Francis Medical Center, California Pacific Medical Center, Post Street Surgery Center and also at St. Lukes Hospital in San Francisco, California. He has lived in the San Francisco Bay area since 1992 and has been in private practice since that time. Dr. Salomon is married. He and his wife are active members and directors of Hospital de la Familia in Nuevo Progreso, Guatemala, a non-profit, hospital serving the indigenous population of Guatemala. (Please click on this link to learn more about Hospital de la Familia.) Dr. Salomon has also participated on mission trips to Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Bolivia with Operation Rainbow and Rotoplast. Dr. Salomon is also an accomplished Cellist and enjoys playing with various groups and symphonies. He enjoys skiing and traveling in his spare time.
